Détecteurs et Instrumentation
pour les Deux Infinis
The development of innovative particle detectors and associated instrumentation is at the heart of IN2P3’s missions. It makes possible to detect ever more elusive processes in environments where particle fluxes reach unparalleled values, in particular at large particle colliders such as the LHC at CERN or at the future Higgs factories. Progress in these fields requires an increased effort in the development of proven techniques as well as in the design of the next generation detectors, some of which will be based on entirely new techniques. One example is the development and deployment of quantum sensors to detect dark matter. This GDR, “Detecteurs et Instrumentaion aux Deux Infinis (Detectors and Instrumentation for the 2 infinities – DI2I), proposes to set up a national scientific animation in order to significantly intensify the research effort in this field. It relies on the existence of specialized thematic networks bringing together researchers and engineers, gathering together to encourage cross-functional initiatives.
